Community Town Hall: Postponed!
We apologize for the inconvenience and we thank you for saving the date.
At this time, we’ve decided more time is needed to ensure the preparations necessary for the discussions we want to have.
Save the Date: Town Hall
The Art Gallery of Mississauga continues to evade accountability.
We demanded they stop the search for an Executive Director—-The AGM has hired a new ED. Her previous employment: superintendent with Corrections (yes, we mean jail). 2018 pay according to sunshine list: $129,460.50.
We demanded the board resign—there is a full board, most elected at the annual meeting. None seem concerned about complaints of harm. Board of Directors include:
- Leslie Silvestri – President
- Steve Ferguson – Vice President
- Anthony Pizzonia – Treasurer
- Mary Miskic – Secretary
- Silvia Gualteri
- Patti Jannetta Baker
- Yuce Baykara
- Lisa Browne
- Deta Constatine
- Shelley Jarrett
- Paul Sych
- Carlos Herrera
We demanded funders not release any more funds—All funders have been contacted by multiple artists & community members. All funders say they are taking concerns seriously, but are limited in their power to act.
We demanded that the City of Mississauga establish a BIPOC advisory committee—we are setting in motion to develop this ourselves.
Join us for the first community Town Hall on October 26, 2020.
We demanded that there be an integrity process for City-funded arts & culture organizations—-We are setting in motion to develop the proposed structure for this.

Keep Sharing, Keep Signing.
Our petition has now gathered 270 signatures. Thank you for all your support. We are still working in the background to keep our momentum. Please continue to have conversations with your networks and to share the petition.
